Manjimup Light Red
Manjimup Light Red
Place name meaning: place of the Manjin reed. Ecologically farmed by Fabio and Karen Deitos.
Grapes were hand-picked in March in 2022. We picked early in anticipation of a rain event yet the fruit was still incredibly sweet and lush. For the Merlot component, whole bunches were left in contact with the skins for between 12-24 hours before being pressed off to older French oak. The Syrah saw 10-14 days skin contact (whole bunch) before being pressed to older French oak. The two wines were blended at bottling, with around 70% Merlot/30% Syrah making up the composition of the final blend. Hand bottled, unfined, unfiltered, and no sulphur added.
Serve with a light chill and a goat’s cheese and beetroot salad.
